Some forms of Adult Education that have been offered:
Advent Series
An adult series meeting on seasonal topics, concluding with Eucharist at 7:30pm. Since our kids’ energies are often focused toward the Christmas pageant in December, this series does not add a children’s component.
Easter Season
After Easter, an “Episcopal Church 101” class. We cover topics in church history, Episcopal polity, Spirituality, liturgy, prayer, and the Church’s Positions on Contemporary Moral Issues. This class is designed for newcomers as well as those who have decided to be confirmed or received (if you were confirmed in another denomination) as Episcopalians, for whom there is also a half day retreat.
Occasional Events
We have occasional education offerings throughout the year on many different topics. We’ve partnered with the Waltham Public Library to offer film screenings, such as the documentary Love Free or Die on the groundbreaking episcopacy of Bishop Gene Robinson as the first “out” gay bishop and the film Chasing Ice on the devastating impact of climate change. George Waters-Sleyon of the Center for Church and Prison has presented on the problem of mass incarceration and our friend the Rev. Norm Faramelli has presented his work on Martin Luther King, Jr.
Adult Christian Formation
Our regular offerings of adult education vary throughout the season, with programs for Lent, for Easter, in the fall, and for Advent.
All Ages Education, Spring
During Lent, we have offered an all-ages evening on Tuesday nights, as well as Soup and Study nights. Most recently, we studied “Tears we Cannot Stop; A Sermon to White America” by Michael Eric Dyson

Summer Programs
